Another great day on the water as we rented a kayak for a long half day. We were picked up at 9.30 a.m. and driven to Glendhu on Lake Wanaka where we were launched onto the water and left to our own devices. With a map (definitely not a chart) of the lake navigation wasn't difficult and we had a great paddle round the lake. We stopped at Damper Bay but the sun hadn't come out and it was a bit chilly so we carried on to Ruby Island where we stopped for our picnic lunch and a walk round before returning the kayak.
We spent the afternoon sitting in the sun by the lakeside. Alison and Marian will be really impressed as I went for a swim in the cold lake waters - I was actually only swimming for about 30 seconds as it was freezing!
